The missions of the Foundation include the granting of no-interest student loans and scholarships to students enrolled in Iowa PT/PTA education programs. Funding for these programs was established through a bequest from Olive C. Farr in 1983.
Iowa Physical Therapy Foundation (IPTF) loans are available to students attending any accredited Iowa PT education program. The IPTF will grant no-interest loans of $1,000 per year, not to exceed $2,000. There is an administration fee of $25 per loan. Repayment of $1,000 per year is due one month after graduation when interest will begin accruing at 10 percent per month. The loan will become delinquent after six months. Students may apply at any time. The Foundation offers five annual $500 scholarships to Iowa PT students, four to SPTs and one to an SPTA. The deadline is one month prior to the Spring Conference. Loans and scholarships are not available for non-Iowa students. You may download instructions and application forms for Foundation loans and scholarships from our Download Page. For additional information, call the Iowa Physical Therapy Association & Foundation office at 515/222-9838. |
