Call for Proposals Symposium on Physical Therapy Topics Iowa Physical Therapy Association 2008 Fall Conference October 4, 2008 Council Bluffs, Iowa DEADLINE: July 25, 2008 The Iowa Physical Therapy Association (IPTA) Education Committee will hold a one-day Symposium on Physical Therapy Topics during the 2008 IPTA Fall Conference. Similar to last fall's event, the focus is to provide a forum on a wide range of issues relevant to the practice of physical therapy. Those who attend this one-day course will have an opportunity to choose from a spectrum of speakers and topics. The IPTA Education Committee is again seeking individuals who would be interested in presenting at the Symposium. Those who possess expertise in such areas as patient management, advances in clinical practice, evidence-based practice, reimbursement issues or emerging practice areas are encourage to submit a proposal. Each speaker will be given two hours to present their topic. As part of the Symposium, one of the two-hour blocks will be set aside for presentations of research studies, case studies and annotated bibliographies. This will take the place of the poster presentations that have been on display during past fall conferences. Presenters will be given 10-30 minutes to share results of research studies, present case studies that provide unique insight into patient management or provide annotated bibliographies that address aspects of physical therapy management. If you have completed a physical therapy transitional doctorate, this would be an ideal forum to share your scholarly work. If you are interested in being a part of this symposium, you should create a proposal following the guidelines listed below. Those selected will receive complimentary registration for the day of presentation and will be able to attend the luncheon at no charge. Notification of acceptance will be sent by July 28, 2008. Presenters must be a current IPTA member or be sponsored by a member in good standing. Each prospective presenter may submit no more than two proposals. If you have questions, please send an e-mail to Juanita Robel, PT, or phone her at (515) 271-1634. Please follow the links below to submit an on-line proposal.
